Efficiency Apartments

Plaza Efficiency Apartments, In downtown Kirkland

One of the great things about this career is seeing new things and ideas. In December, I had the pleasure of shooting some higher end efficiency apartments. I had never heard of them. In this take on the idea, the tenant/user has a nice smaller studio unit, with a minimal kitchenette. But the building makes up for it with multiple, very nice, common areas to hang out, work, play, dine, socialize, watch TV, and in one iteration, cook in full size kitchens. The trade off for this unusual community lifestyle is lower rents in some of the best city locations. Is this a trade you would make? Could you give up stuff (both figuratively, and literally, cuz there just isn’t room for our typical American hoarder lifestyles)?

The larger of the two conference rooms
Small tables to chill out at, eat, or work
Cookies, coffee, and meal prep space

Second building of the day, 162 Ten in the heart of Redmond
Gorgeous Spaces
Full kitchens and large dining spaces
TV, Billiards and Games
Even a music room with instruments

I was blown away by the thoughtfulness of the amenities, and I haven’t even covered the outdoor spaces.

I saw the interiors of only one apartment home in Plaza, there may be larger, and smaller units. I was simply there for a few marketing shots. I liked what I saw and wish I could live that minimally. How about you?
